As an author, I’ve been doing a poor job lately of actually reading, but I’ve started a nightly ritual of reading before bed that has changed my reading life for the better.
Over the summer, I followed a fair amount of bookstagrammers and made a To-Be-Read list of their recommendations. They, along with a mention from my editor, led me to V.E. Schwab and her recent Monsters of Verity duology about the monsters in and outside of our heads. Last night, I finished the last book, Our Dark Duet. Here is my GoodReads review:
I would definitely recommend reading this series. The characters are amazing and the writing is excellent. I loved every line of it, and I’ll definitely be reading more of Schwab’s books. All of them.
I’m not one for lengthy reviews just yet, but be assured that I loved this series! If you’re looking for a new story to get lost in, I recommend grabbing a copy of This Savage Song.
Tonight, I’m starting the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. I can’t wait to tell you how it is! (I promise I’ll do a better job with the review!)
